Phillip Millar, president of MMG, spoke at the 3rd International Medical Cannabis Conference (CannX) that was held in Tel Aviv, Israel from October 14th to October 16th, 2018. Mr. Millar’s speech, “Concrete Evidence of Medical Cannabis Saving Lives and how Data Can Help the Cause” explored how Europe and other emerging markets, like Israel, can learn from Canada’s medical to recreational cannabis journey.
Phillip turned to empirical data where the numbers show efficacy and how insurance coverage is a barrier to entry for emerging medical markets. He also touched on what the upcoming legalization market in Canada will do for future coverage and the attitudes of doctors broadly. Mr. Millar’s speech also covered major mistakes made in Canada, when the Canadian government implemented Medical Cannabis and how lack of education from doctors allowed for a guerilla clinic model that, in some cases, exploited patients for money.
Mr. Millar’s speech was very well received, and he looks forward to speaking at next year’s Cannx conference.
